Wire rope slings is the latest category to undergo a product expansion at US Cargo Control. The Iowa-based specialty retailer recently added more than 600 new products to its online selection at USCargoControl.com, including both domestic and import slings.

Matt Mitchell, Merchandise Category Manager, says the new slings fill a need in the current marketplace for quality, heavy duty lifting slings available for order online.

“Our goal for this expansion was to offer a wider variety of styles, diameters, and lengths, so customers could have the opportunity to simply click to order a sling right online,” said Mitchell. “As always, they can also call our sales team if they have questions, of if they would like to order a custom-made sling.”

The new products are the latest round of merchandise expansions within the lifting sling category. In 2013 the company added nylon slings, polyester round slings, and chain slings to its product lineup. The additions also coincide with a redesign of the website that makes product selection more user-friendly. The new layout guides visitors through choosing domestic or import wire rope slings, then style, diameter, and finally length.

“We’ve created the category to be easy to navigate whether a customer knows exactly what they’re shopping for, or if they’re really just looking for information to help them choose the right sling,” said Mitchell.

According to Mitchell, the addition of more lifting slings will continue into the second half of 2014, as the company plans to expand its line of nylon bridle slings.
