Sin embargo si usted tiene un recolector de datos de dos canales, o si tiene una luz espectroscópica, no es difícil de reunir las lecturas de la fase, y es sumamente recomendado que usted tome unas cuantas lecturas rápidas para estar seguro acerca de su diagnóstico.

La regla clave es que la diferencia en la fase entre una lectura vertical y la lectura horizontal debe ser aproximadamente 90 grados (+ o - 30 grados). Si usted repite la prueba en ambos extremos de la máquina, la diferencia debe ser semejante en cada extremo.
