To minimize water from entering new drums of oil, keep drums indoors and stacked horizontally. However, here is a technique to be used to remove water from the top of a drum. Lay a paper towel to the top of the drum and allow some of the paper towel to hang over the edge of the drum so the water soaks through the towel and down the side of the drum to the ground.
