Monitoring bearings with ultrasound requires careful analysis of the data collected in order to identify impending problems. Each piece of data should be analysed individually for sound quality (it is smooth or harsh, does it show impacts? etc.), sound intensity (high or low) and also for the rate of change in intensity from one sample to the next.
