Increase awareness of your break down work by placing a table and sign in a conspicuous area of your plant, and placing a copy of all breakdown workorders and parts changed on it. Make sure that your work order has the root cause, parts cost, labor hours, and recurrence prevention activity information for everyone to see. This probably sounds crazy but try it.

It's one of the most beneficial things that I've tried.
