Al verificar una resonancia irregular en un ventilador que no podía ser apagado, utilice una luz estroboscópica y apunte desde un filtro sintonizable a la frecuencia sospechosa.

Desafortunadamente no podía encontrar un punto de referencia (por ejemplo una marca o clave en el eje) así que tome un tapón de oído de espuma y lo pinte con un marcador blanco y lo inserte en un tubo de plástico con una longitud corta y lo utilice como una pistola y apunte al eje.

Mi puntería fue buena así que dejo una marca que era lo bastante clara al usar la luz estroboscópica. Moviendo el acelerómetro conectado al filtro alrededor de la patina, pude ver un cambio definido de 180 grados en la posición de la marca dejado por el tapón de oído cuando golpeó el eje. Esto confirmó la resonancia irregular cuando yo también tracé las amplitudes por la patina.
