How do you do infrared electrical scans? There are many approaches to it, with some being better than others. What about taking the covers off for the inspection? Remember that many industrial grade panels have a two-part cover. They must be removed to reveal "hidden" problems not seen without the second panel removed. You will have a much higher thermal gradient and may even not report a problem as it may seem to be much less of a problem. Many problems are in the wire-to-lug junction, which simply may not been seen if not careful.

In this infrared tip, read about the importance of taking the time to take the extra step to remove the dead-front and possibly add a great deal more value to your inspection!
