In the realm of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), an emerging problem is how to handle complex data such as vibration. Vibration data is considered complex because it is sampled at a high rate and a single snapshot that an analyst would look at is actually made up of thousands of individual points. With most process, control and analytic systems designed around single value data, the value of vibration data can quickly become lost. This presentation will explain the challenges vibration data brings to the IIoT world and look at how these can be addressed by the use of smart vibration devices.
