IMC Presentation 46:31 Minutes
by Thomas Povanda, Merck
Designing for reliable sustainable assets is paramount in any capital project, yet most projects forgo design for reliability (DfR) and follow a typical asset lifecycle approach without much attention to design-related defects and how they impact maintainability, operability, reliability, energy (MORE), etc. Ultimately, subpar asset performance is experienced as well as overspend in total cost of ownership.
Participants will learn how a large pharmaceutical company has taken an aggressive approach by embedding design for reliability within a capital project management process, transition from CapEx to OpEx and the overall benefits that can be realized over the lifespan of an asset.
