The Uptime Elements provide a comprehensive framework that includes both reliability and asset management (ISO 55000) strategies. Although leadership, people and processes are the most critical ingredients for improving these elements, a robust enterprise asset management (EAM) system is key for enabling and integrating all key asset functions. Unfortunately, most organizations deploy an expensive EAM system, like Maximo, with the advanced strategies in mind but become quickly consumed in tactical issues and pitfalls – not coming close to their original vision.
