Today’s business leaders are now placing greater emphasis on performance management, so they can manage outcomes due to their realization that citizen-based business intelligence tools provide limited value when it comes to process improvements. Those organizations that embrace performance management lead the competition because they have gained ability to manage their actions and instill a culture of continuous improvement.

In 2016, the independent technology research firm Gartner stated that ‘The BI platform category is undergoing the biggest transformation it has ever seen, as spending has come to a screeching halt in traditional BI platform investments.’ This discussion will explore how performance measurement has evolved beyond reporting and business intelligence into an objective driven process that focuses on business improvements and not just numbers.
