Solid State Transformer is much more than a transformer replacement, enabling numerous advanced features to unlock solutions for data centers, EV charging, renewables, microgrids, and industrial installations. Responsibilities

  • Define reliability vision and roadmap, build and mentor a top-tier team, and embed reliability principles into design and development.
  • Drive DFMEA and fault-tree analysis, influence architecture decisions, and set supplier reliability standards.
  • Build Amperesand’s flagship reliability lab from the ground up. Establish test protocols and partner with accredited labs for certifications.
  • Lead root-cause investigations, implement corrective actions, and leverage fleet data for predictive health insights.
  • Work closely with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to integrate reliability targets and feedback loops throughout development.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree (PhD preferred) or equivalent industry experience in electronics or reliability engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in reliability engineering for power electronics.
  • 5+ years of experience managing a team of test, compliance, or reliability engineers.
  • Expertise in accelerated testing, physics-of-failure, and reliability statistics.
  • Hands-on experience with failure analysis techniques and tools.
  • Delivered a high-volume product with field reliability matching demonstrated reliability.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety and handling of high-voltage hardware.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build teams and infrastructure for reliability excellence.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% including internationally.
