How your work would contribute to our organization and the Twin Cities region:

The Manager, Asset Data and Technology (Mgr. Business Systems 2) is the overall leader for the data and technology work unit within the Asset Management department. This position will be responsible for working with cross-functional teams to develop and implement division-wide asset data integrity and integration strategies and asset management best practices that enable lifecycle asset management. They will work with Environmental Services and Information Services to support Council-wide asset management business systems and will directly supervise staff working on these systems. This position will manage one (1) Business Systems Analyst, one (1) Business Analyst, and an intern, to accomplish goals and objectives efficiently and effectively. This position supports Metropolitan Council Asset Management objectives through collaboration and facilitation with a broad spectrum of internal stakeholders.

Education and Experience:

A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field AND at least six (6) years of progressively responsible experience with data and technology management and project management AND must have three (3) years of lead, supervisory or management experience.

Equivalencies:

  • A master’s degree in Information Technology, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field AND at least four (4) years of progressively responsible experience with data and technology management and project management AND must have three (3) years of lead, supervisory or management experience.
  • An associate degree in Information Technology, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field AND At least eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience with data and technology management and project management AND must have three (3) years of lead, supervisory or management experience.
  • A high school diploma or GED AND ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience with data and technology management and project management AND must have three (3) years of lead, supervisory or management experience.

Desired qualifications:

  • At least two (2) years of experience in Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems and/or Computerized Maintenance Management Information Systems (CMMIS).
  • Experience in public sector management.
  • Knowledge of transit organizations, maintenance, and capital planning.
  • Experience managing asset management data and technologies.
  • Professional asset management credentials such as IAM Certificate/Diploma or Certified Reliability Leader certificate.
