Ron Moore

This presentation will expand upon the RAP talk earlier, providing additional insight into the use of the various tools, and their requirements to be effective. Most organizations seem to believe that if they install a CMMS, and the attendant planners and schedulers, and then add a dose of PdM/Condition monitoring, along with perhaps a little IoT, that reliability will greatly improve. It likely will improve, but only to a very limited degree. In this session, Ron Moore will articulate the myths and pitfalls of limiting your efforts to CMMS, PdM, and IoT. These are all excellent tools, but to be effective, must have certain foundational elements in place, i.e., leadership, alignment, employee engagement, and a culture of operational excellence, along with a holistic approach to reliability, including design, procurement, operations, and maintenance, all working in collaboration to eliminate the defects creating un-reliability. The tools must be leveraged with these foundational elements. Lacking these, and adding significant IoT, you risk by adding excess complexity, confusion, and potentially, failure.

You can ask anything about maintenance, reliability, and asset management.
