CRL 1-hr: 9/26 Introduction to Uptime Elements Reliability Framework and Asset Management System

The EcoSia line will make it easier for lubricant customers to identify those products that meet their environmental goals without compromising performance. The product offering spans a diverse range of applications and customer segments including, but not limited to, lubricants and fluids for forestry, agriculture, drilling, mining, construction and general manufacturing.

“We developed the EcoSia line because there was a need in the marketplace to identify those lubricant products we manufacture that have environmentally-friendly attributes,” stated Randy Koenig, Vice President Lubricants, Petro-Canada. “With increasing enthusiasm and need for environmentally-friendly lubricants, we also wanted our customers to be aware of the fact that many of our products, that they already use, are environmentally responsible without compromising product performance.”

Petro-Canada’s EcoSia line meets the following criteria which are based on recognized industry tests:

- Inherently or readily biodegradable (based on component or product data obtained using the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) 301B testing guideline, or OECD 306 testing guideline (Biodegradability in Seawater).
- Not environmentally toxic (based on United Nations Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals)

Koenig noted, “Our EcoSia line is founded on the fact that Petro-Canada produces high-quality, innovative products that are made from some of the purest base oils in the world, and all of our claims are supported by internationally recognized testing methods for biodegradability and toxicity. As a result, our customers can have real confidence in using EcoSia branded products.”

The EcoSia line-up includes products from many of Petro-Canada’s existing brands, including, but not limited to, ENVIRONTM hydraulic fluids, PUREDRILLTM drilling mud base fluids, CALFLOTM specialty heat transfer fluids, select PURITYTM FG food grade lubricants, PURETOLTM white oils, select COMPROTM compressor fluids, and LUMINOLTM electrical insulating fluids. We are thrilled to be able to offer our current line-up of environmentally-friendly products under the EcoSia brand and we are committed to expanding this line as we develop new and innovative products.”
