Apply On WebPurpose of the Position: This is a Facility Maintenance Technician (Mechanical Trades). The position is considered to be fully functioning in a particular trade area. Additionally, this position is expected to able to perform all general maintenance work at the co-level. This position may also be given the opportunity to perform/learn another trade. Tasks may include maintenance, repair, placement, fabrication, installation, alteration, construction, and design of facility components in assigned zone.
Salary: $42,013 - $48,000
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or equivalent and two years of experience. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Essential Job Duties: The FM Mechanical Trades Technician performs under the direction of the Maintenance Operations Plumbing Supervisor. Duties include but are not limited to: The responsibilities may entail a range of tasks such as maintenance, repair, replacement, fabrication, installation, alteration, construction, and design of facility components. These require planning, problem-solving, attention to detail, teamwork, communication, and adherence to safety. Conduct regular maintenance checks to ensure that the building systems operate efficiently. In the event of mechanical problems, must diagnose and troubleshoot the issue, referring to blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs if necessary, to determine the appropriate corrective measures.
Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalency and at least two years of experience installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial building systems. Solid working knowledge of commercial plumbing systems and a proven track record in facilities. Plumbing Journeyman Card or Plumbing Technician License. Able to foster and create a teamwork-oriented atmosphere. Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, interpretation, and comprehension), and have very good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Knowledgeable in Google Chrome, Microsoft Word, and Excel, and willing to learn new programs. The ability to work and interact effectively with people from different cultures is essential. Mental and physical capabilities to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
