Del cálculo del AES se obtiene un intervalo de remplazo de 23.2 meses y un incremento de energía de consumo del 0.5%, de acuerdo con un estudio del Investment Company Institue (ICI, por sus siglas en inglés). Encontramos cuatro categorías de ahorro: consumo de energía, remplazo de sellos y rodamientos, y costo de reparación de bombas. Si asumimos que el costo de la electricidad es de 12 centavos por KWh (promedio en EE.UU.) y el costo de la reparación de las bombas es de $100 por hora de mano de obra, puede ahorrarse $172.260 dólares por año si todas las bombas se alinean a 0.05 mils.
