Ha sido informado en el diario de TAPPI que la alineación de precisión tuvo como resultado extender la vida útil del cojinete ocho veces en una clase grande de máquinas de rotación. Otros beneficios informados fueron ahorros del 7 % en costos generales de mantenimiento y un aumento de 12 % en la disponibilidad de la máquina. Las fallas de la maquinaria atribuidas a la desalineación fueron cortadas en la mitad.

Otro beneficio de alineación de precisión es un ahorro de energía. Un estudio reciente documentó un promedio de 11 % de ahorro de energía por la alineación de precisión en un grupo de ensamble de simples bombas-motores. Esto es porque menos energía es consumida es expandida al flexionar el cople, al vibrar la máquina, y calentando los cojinetes. ¡El dinero ahorrado en este caso debido a consumo reducido de energía fue más del doble de los costos de mantenimiento en estas máquinas!
