Hace un par de años notamos que teníamos un par de fallas prematuras de motor después de reconstruir los cojinetes. Como resultado empezamos a verificar los motores reconstruidos después de que llegaban del taller. Encontramos en unos cuantos que la carcasa del cojinete no era limpiada completamente en el taller. Una pequeña barra inoxidable (una barra de soldadura tig) es utilizado para explorar bajo el tubo de grasa al cojinete y removerlo lentamente. La grasa/residuos son eliminadas en un trapo blanco de grasa. Si hay contaminación visual en el área del tubo de engrasado (generalmente grasa quemada) entonces puede estar a través del cojinete o será empujado en el cojinete la primera vez que el motor es lubricado después de que sea puesto en servicio. Después de que ver nuestros resultados el taller de reconstrucción agregó algunos procedimientos para sus técnicos para asegurar que las carcasas sean limpiadas y los nuevos tubos de lubricante sean instalados.
