When outfitting a reservoir or tank with a desiccant or particulate breather, the fill cap and all other openings must have some form of seal to prevent contaminated air from bypassing the breather. Many filler caps are designed to breathe and will allow air to enter the tank without being filtered. Additionally, sizing the appropriate breather for your application and environment will ensure you receive the most possible life of the desiccant and protection of your equipment.
