Work sampling is a measurement technique based on a random sampling of the workforce to determine what types of activities they are performing over the course of the day. Having productivity-related information is invaluable. It provides data that shows when the workforce is and is not being productive. Additionally, in the non-productive times, it provides insight into what is getting in the way of the work.
