TRC-2019 Presentation 51:06 Minutes
by Blair Fraser, Lakeside Process Controls
It is hard to read anything about reliability, asset managements and predictive maintenance without hearing the term artificial intelligence (AI) or its closely related cousins, predictive analytics, prescriptive maintenance, Industry 4.0 or smart manufacturing. All these new acronyms, terms and buzz words can be confusing to those us that have been implementing the fundamentals of reliability.
This workshop aims to break down the hype of AI into what matters for us as reliability professionals as learned by a fellow reliability practitioner through failure and success of AI in reliability for the last three years. We will dive into the common questions like:
- What is AI?
- What is a good application for AI or what is not a good application?
- Do I need to have condition monitoring in place before AI?
- How do I choose what asset or system to start with?
- How much data do I need?
- How do I address the culture change needed?
- How do I support AI after?
- How do I scale?
