Smarter, More Sustainable, Resilient
A digital-built America is crucial for building back better with a smarter, more sustainable and resilient infrastructure. As the COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated, digitization will be a significant factor to economic recovery and resiliency long into the future. Although highly critical to advanced nations, infrastructure remains one of the least digitalized sectors of the U.S. economy. The use of digital technologies in the planning, development, delivery, operations and maintenance of critical infrastructure severely lags other industries. Building back better will require adopting widely accepted practices such as BIM, digital engineering, digital asset management, digital twins, and smart infrastructure that we are seeing in other countries throughout Europe and Asia, across all infrastructure lifecycle stages of planning, design, construction, operations, and services to drives better outcomes such productivity, sustainability inclusivity and competitiveness.
