When implementing a new EAM system there are many things to keep in mind. First and foremost is the reason for implementing a new EAM system, which is to better maintain your assets. It is easy to fall into the trap of implementing your new system to function the way you have always done business. The key to success is to implement with reliability in mind. The next step is to implement the Backfed Reliability Program. This program allows your new EAM to calculate and identify the risks to be addressed, without all the heavy lifting a full blown RCM implementation requires.
