IMC-2016 Maximo Learning Zone - 37:44 by Jason Verly, Davisco Foods International
Games are played all over the world. Games are how we first learn about our world, understand rules or directions, and how to work with others. Games eventually teach us about winning, losing and risk. As reliability professional, we're often asked to pull off one big win to change their company's reliability culture at the risk of our reputation. But a company's culture is often deep rooted and resists bending or changing. To make lasting changes, you need to make small adjustments in your day to day activities. Davisco Foods is evolving our reliability program by playing the neutral game. We take a positive look at aspects of the company and the business that we can control and use those to promote and evolve our reliability goals. This session will demonstrate areas you can use in your company's neutral game and set your team towards a winning path for your reliability program.
MaximoWorld 2017 Keynote - 40:15 by Terrence O'Hanlon, CEO/Publisher, Reliabilityweb.com and Uptime Magazine
As the large ocean liner cuts through the ocean, it would be almost impossible to turn the ship by pushing on the bow or the front of the ship. Even turning the rudder requires enormous effort. Learn to discover the Trim Tabs available in most organizations to create a more natural directional effort. One of my heroes, and innovative thought leader, Buckminster Fuller said, "The truth is that you get the low pressure to do things, rather than getting on the other side and trying to push the bow of the ship around against the high pressure. You build that low pressure by getting rid of a little nonsense, getting rid of things that don’t work and aren’t true until you start to get that trim-tab motion." Join Terrence O'Hanlon for a vibrant and energetic keynote address designed to discover the Trim Tabs in your organization.

The pervasiveness of IoT is reaching new heights and never has the momentum been greater than in the asset intensive industries the Maximo community serves. When it comes to IoT, we are not just talking about IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) but touch points in all industries from process and discrete manufacturing to transportation and a multitude of facility operations. Many of you have already begun the process of implementing an IoT strategy but just as many of you have yet to fully embrace it. The time to accelerate your Maximo’s IoT capabilities is now and take your predictive and prescriptive maintenance capabilities to the next level. This talk will focus on leveraging IoT business value through Maximo and touch upon such areas as: optimizing asset utilization, reaching new heights in collecting and exchanging data, monitoring, managing, and controlling connected devices, and governing your assets to prevent safety and regulatory risk. By talk’s end, you will realize that there is nothing holding you back from accelerating Maximo’s IoT capabilities at your plant or facility.

Alex Walters showcases mobile hardware solutions for Maximo asset management. He begins by demonstrating a mobile printer for asset tags, highlighting its convenience for field technicians. Next, he introduces a Bluetooth beacon and two use cases: guiding technicians through inspection routes and filtering assets by their location. Finally, he presents a voice-controlled headset enabling technicians to collaborate remotely, view and interact with Maximo work orders hands-free. The presentation emphasizes the efficiency and ease-of-use of these tools for mobile Maximo users.
Asset reliability and process professionals face an enormous challenge to tame the tsunami of data and turn it into useful information. With the advent of cheap IIoT devices, sensor data is growing 50 times faster than business data with only 2 percent of it actually being used!
