Fueled by record setting participation last year, a wealth of activities are in the works for Manufacturing Day 2015, scheduled for October 2, the fourth annual industry grassroots event that’s celebrated across North America.  As of June 1, more than 160 events are already planned and listed on the official national events registry found on www.mfgday.com.  Some 100 organizations, publications and industry suppliers have publically declared their endorsement of MFG DAY 2015.

Jake Rivard of Whitinsville, Mass., a student at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, will represent the United States in Mechanical Engineering Design - CAD during the biennial WorldSkills Competition in São Paulo. Rivard will compete as a member of the SkillsUSA WorldTeam. The 43rd international event will be held Aug. 11-16, 2015

Under the MassDevelopment’s Manufacturing Innovation Grants program, CCAT is one of four Innovation Centers to help advance the growth of small-to-mid-sized Massachusetts manufacturers., administered by CCAT, created individual plans for Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont to aid in advancing the deployment of hydrogen and fuel cell technology.

L-com Global Connectivity, a preferred manufacturer of wired and wireless connectivity products, announced today that they have received a 2014 Boeing Performance Excellence Award. Boeing issues this award annually in recognition of superior supplier performance.
