All manufacturing organizations own a warehouse for MRO spares and most of these organizations use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) as a tool to support the maintenance function. This article will focus on the integration between CMMS modules that serve maintenance, mainly work order, inventory and purchasing.
Its 7 a.m. and Rich's head is already spinning. He hasn't even finished his first cup of coffee and already three different customers have screamed at him. While the customers are from three completely different business areas, they have two things in common:
They each have an "emergency" that needs to be taken care of right now.
They each refer to themselves as THE most important person on site.

Data plays a critical role in the success of maintenance management systems. This is especially true with enterprise-level solutions like SAP, where a single source of data is utilized by multiple groups within an organization. Furthermore, as technology advances and maintenance originations are able to take advantage of tools like mobile devices and advanced analytics, the importance of data will become even more critical. Many companies struggle with how to how to determine the quality of their data, as well as what indicators to measure. This presentation will focus on the value of good data, and discuss tools that have been developed to help analyze that quality of EAM data across your organization.

You've been utilizing your system and collecting data, but are you getting what you need? Are you maximizing the potential of the system? Perhaps initial implementation issues are impacting the day to day system operation and utilization? What should you look for and how do you determine what's value added and what is not?
Pump reliability is an old topic, but it is just as relevant today as it was the first time we heard it a few decades ago. There are some very good reasons to focus on improving pump reliability:
Most asset-intensive organizations recognize that efficient and effective maintenance planning and scheduling is one of those cornerstone processes that can help ensure equipment reliability and assist with attaining excellence in operations.

Materials management is a critical part of an organizations ability to maintain and sustain reliability. Too many unnecessary or seldom used parts and materials on a shelf can waste resources. Resources are utilized to handle, house, maintain and kit or issue parts. Often times these resources are consumed on parts that haven't moved in years.

First there was PAS-55. Now we have a Draft International Standard (DIS) focusing on asset management (proposed ISO-55000). Why would companies want to be certified under an asset management standard? How will this impact them financially? What will this mean for maintenance and reliability professionals? These and other issues will be explored during the webinar.

Our production personnel can be the eyes and ears of the maintenance group if they are trained to know how equipment fails, what to look for, and how to report abnormalities. Operators are critical to helping an organization achieve early identification of problems, which then allows more time to plan, schedule, coordinate and execute work to prevent costly failures. Early identification of problems is one of the keys to planning & scheduling success, and a strong "Shop Floor" is oftentimes the missing ingredient.
Selected graphs are taken from the CMMS Best Practices Study and are consistent with report's figure reference.
Reliabilityweb.com produced a CMMS Best Practices Study in July 2011 demonstrating the value computerized maintenance management systems add, as well as areas for future growth and improvement. The report was based on a survey of users conducted earlier that year which focused on implementation, use and sustainability.
As a marketer, this report is important as it provides an opportunity to better understand the user experience with CMMS in general and, for the Maximo brand specifically, the CMMS that Projetech provides. From this report, we see there is much that is changing in CMMS and the details summarized in the report provide us with opportunities to address the evolving needs of our customers. It is my pleasure to provide a perspective on the results of the survey and report.

Fact: Manufacturing is applying technology and the processes are becoming more complicated. Customers are requiring higher quality and proof of sustainability by adopting global standards and requiring conformance to those standards. This has put a spot light on all Maintenance Activities: Operator PM, Maintenance PM, Cleaning and Inspection Standards, Operating and Set-up Standards, Precision Maintenance, Documentation (CMMS), Problem Solving Process. Maintenance Best Practices are a core foundation to deliver Reliable Capacity® that is achieved by having Reliable Processes, Equipment and People. Maintenance is an integral part of implementing and achieving "Zero Defects". Proper Maintenance will decrease variation in a process and product resulting in higher quality and lower cost production.
Leading companies recognize the importance of maximizing their return on investment in hard assets used to provide their products and services. A key component of any asset's life cycle is the operation and maintenance phase. Proper management of this life cycle phase can lead to top and bottom line improvements. This presentation will show how the Level 1 Maintenance Strategy Master Class can help any company develop a strategy that will enable them to achieve these operational and maintenance improvements.

In this economic environment, storerooms are under the magnifying glass to identify ways to save. As such, the need to identify what stock is critical to an asset and what stock is expendable is imperative. This is where reliability processes, normally limited to maintenance people and reliability engineers, comes into the equation. Certain reliability processes such as Failure Modes Analysis (FMA), FRACAS, and criticality analysis can paint a very clear picture of what parts are likely to be needed and how often.
This webinar will discuss how the reliability world and the stores world come together to create a comprehensive picture of what we can expect from our equipment base and how the right stores strategy can affect it, as well as how these processes can benefit the current demands on MRO inventory.
An hour long presentation by Dennis Belanger, Vice President, Management Resources Group, Inc.
Dennis Belanger, CMRP and Vice President of MRG, a Maintenance and Reliability Consulting and Engineering firm, will be sharing the "Top 10 Best Maintenance Practices for Your CMMS" which are based on MRG's 25 years experience working with clients. The Top 10 list will outline answers to these questions and touch on the following topics: Foundational Requirements, Getting the Basics Right, How to Get Everyone on Board, Management Discipline, and Sustainable Improvement. Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) manages the regional transportation system in the national capital area. With 22 storerooms and more than 50,000 SKU's in Maximo 6.2 (upgrading to 7.5), data quality and accuracy in the Item Master is of utmost importance. In this session, WMATA will show how they are optimizing their MRO catalog by cleansing and standardizing item descriptions and keeping the data clean with a catalog management/governance tool connected to Maximo. In doing this, they are seeing increased asset utilization and equipment availability, while simultaneously reducing inventory investment.
